We are Derek and Shaffy childhood friends for over 25 years, bound by a shared sense of adventure, ambition, and justice. What started as a journey for inspiration transformed into a life mission the moment we set foot in Ghana.
During our travels through Ghana, the homeland of Derek’s family, a conversation with local cocoa farmers sparked by a relative changed everything. What began as a casual chat under a mango tree evolved into a profound discovery of a world few ever truly see. Driven by curiosity and a growing sense of responsibility, we ventured deep into the rural heartlands, where we witnessed firsthand the dedication of farmers tending their land, yet struggling to make a living.
What struck us most was the painful contrast between the global value of cocoa and the meager income of those who cultivate it. The situation wasn’t just economically unfair; it lacked any trace of social responsibility.
We spoke with farmers, factory owners, local government officials, and exporters. What we uncovered confirmed our belief: things must change. From that conviction, Deshmore Co was born a cocoa export company with its heart in the right place, created to make a genuine difference.

At Deshmore Co, we believe that real change begins at the source. Our mission is to turn fair trade into a lived reality not just a marketing term, but a principle we uphold in everything we do.
We source our cocoa beans directly from farmers, we invest in their communities, and enforce strict CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) standards throughout our supply chain.
We don’t just export cocoa we export trust, respect, and opportunity.
